Hi *|FNAME|*,

I hope you are all coping ok in the current climate. With restrictions easing even further I hope businesses can now start to recover and thrive in the new "normal".

With the recent press conference from the PM and the subsequent media attention on cyber security, this months newsletter content focuses on security. Down below are some tips that all business owners and managers should implement in their business, 3 ways hackers are targeting your business and another article on how webcams may be a security risk.

If you are looking at improving your security, we can now offer hardware firewall appliances on a month to month plan so you don't need to fork out a large up front amount. If you would like more details please let me know.

Also included down below are tips on purchasing all in one computers and for our Apple Mac users (yes, we do support Apple Macintosh computers!) an article on backing up their Macs.

Lastly if you are in the education field and are looking at upgrading or putting in a new wireless or WiFi solution let me know. One of our vendors, Ubiquiti, are allowing schools and other educational institutions a free 6 week trial of their equipment (UDM-PRO, USW Switch and a nanoHD). Let me know if you are interested and I get get some trial kit out to you and get one of out Ubiquiti certified technicians to set it up and configure it for you.

If you need any other help or assistance let me know. Stay safe and catch you all next month.

Cheers

COVID-19 Information

DP Computing is still providing both onsite and remote support to ensure our clients keep on operating. As a business we are continually monitoring the latest government updates regarding the caronavirus and taking all necessary precautions. With the lifting of restrictions we are now all working back at the office but still taking precautions. If anyone at your site has COVID-19 symptoms or has returned from interstate or overseas recently we will not be attending the site and instead will be offering remote support. If this causes any issues with clients, we apologise in advance.

Remote services can also be used where we do not even need to come into your office or business. Depending on you issue we may insist that we try and solve your issues remotely before we come onsite. If you prefer remote services also please let us know.

We can also help businesses with transitioning their staff to work back in the office. If you or your staff members need help please let us know as we will see where we can help out.

Out and About

Luckily for us we have still been busy during this time and some of the previously planned projects are still going ahead. Some of our work over the past month includes:

  • Started the rollout of Cisco routers for another retail client. The first site was done last Monday night at Aberfoyle Park.
  • Bevin started upgrading another client's POS systems, the first of 17 sites across Adelaide.
  • We finished off installing over 360 phones in a call centre in Bedford Park.
  • We started a POS (Point of Sale) system upgrade for a number of shops across Adelaide.

Tech Tips

Be careful when installing new software. Malware and adware are known to tag along and often get installed alongside a legitimate program.
