Hi *|FNAME|*,

Welcome to our March newsletter.

This month we will be exhibiting and also presenting on Cyber Security at the Hallett Cove Business Associations Digital Expo. It will be held on Friday March the 19th from 1PM at the Cove Civic Centre. See below for details of the event and of our talk.

I hope you weren't caught up in the recent Facebook issues. Facebook and the Government have come up with a agreement but if you are still having issues let me know and I can put you on to one of our partners to help you out.

In tech there are always new things coming out and one piece of technology we are keeping a close eye on (especially for our clients in remote regions or in locations with poor internet) is something called StarLink. This is Elon Musk's new company which aims to provide fast and reliable global internet coverage to all parts of the world. Their satellites orbit at a lower speed than regular satellites (ie the NBN satellites) and can provide higher speeds with less latency. If it lives up to the hype, it will be a game changer for those that can't currently get good connections. We have signed up for their beta program and if we get accepted I will post more details. In the meantime if anyone else has Starlink up and running please let me know.

I’d always love to talk about your business and if you would like to catch up please let me know.

Cheers,
David Perkovic - david@dpcomputing.com.au

Security Tips

MFA or Multi-Factor Authentication is one of the simplest methods to reduce your chances of being attacked. Check out our blog post on Why Multi-Factor Authentication is Important or contact us to help you out.

Remember, every business needs to treat cyber-security with the same level importance as the physical security of their property. Too many businesses do the digital equivalent of leaving their doors and windows open.

Contact us now before it is too late to help close those cyber doors and windows.

Out and About

Another month has quickly flown by, some of the things we were up to in February include:

  • David attending the Southern Business Connections networking event at the newly refurbished Marion Hotel.
  • Osama has been busy teaching a group of people on cybersecurity via a webinar.
  • Ben is working most weeknights upgrading Cisco switches, routers and wireless access points for a large national client across Adelaide.
  • Dave and Stefan have been installing new servers and firewalls for a few clients.

In terms of training:

  • Our techs also attended the monthly SMBiT meeting where we all learnt about the latest in internet technologies (NBN, 5G and SD-WAN).
  • All techs attended a webinar on O365 / M365 security.
  • David attended a webinar by WatchGuard on their Endpoint Security Primer.

In March, Osama will start on a series of webinars teaching M365 / O365 (SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams) to a large finance company in Melbourne.
